Hamilton says will carry on overtaking
September 24th, 2008 - 5:25 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend: London, Sept.24 (ANI): Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has vowed to carry on overtaking despite failing to have his Belgium victory reinstated.
Hamilton defended his late move on Ferrari rival Kimi Raikkonen in a five-hour hearing of the International Court of Appeal in Paris on Monday that cost over a million pounds. But the Herts-born star, 23, heard yesterday that the five judges had thrown out the appeal. Hamilton, who is now in Singapore preparing for F1′’s first night race on Sunday, said: “People will probably expect me to be depressed about the result, but that isn”t me. We”re racers, we”re naturally competitive and love to overtake. “Overtaking is difficult and it feels great when you manage to pull off a great manoeuvre. If it pleases the spectators and TV viewers, it’’s better still,” The Sun quoted him as saying further. Hamilton should have been given a drive-through penalty by the stewards but this was changed to a time penalty as the incident happened late on. (ANI)
