Gurbachan Jagat to take oath as Nagaland Governor next week

Imphal (Manipur), July 25(ANI): Gurbachan Jagat, whom the President of India, Pratibha Patil, appointed to discharge functions as the Governor of Nagaland, in addition to his responsibilities as Manipur Governor, would take oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday (July 28).
Abhijit Sinha, Secretary to the Governor of Nagaland informed media in an official statement on Saturday.
The statement said that Jagat would be sworn in as the Governor of Nagaland at the Darbar Hall of Kohima Raj Bhavan on July 28.
Earlier, the outgoing Nagaland Governor Kateekal Sankaranarayanan, who has been transferred to Jharkhand, was given a ceremonial send-off on Friday by the Nagaland Government, in a function attended by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, several State Cabinet members, legislators and bureaucrats at the Raj Bhavan in Nagaland’s Kohima district.
