Govt. offices to be closed from April 7 to 11: Nepal Cabinet

Kathmandu, Apr 3 (ANI): The Cabinet has decided to close all government offices for five days from April 7 to 11 in view of the April 10 Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.
Efforts are being made by different agencies to maintain a smooth supply of essential commodities during the polls.
During the cabinet meeting, issues like the current security situation, rivalry among the ruling parties and poll preparations were discussed.
Home Minister Krishna Sitaula also said that adequate arrangements have been made for the security of candidates and polling stations.
“The cabinet is convinced that the situation is good enough for holding a free and fair poll,” quoted Sitaula as saying.
Besides, the cabinet also decided to provide Rs. one million each as immediate relief for the families of the two people killed in bomb blasts at Chhoti Masjid in Biratnagar. Expressing concern over the deaths in the incident, the cabinet decided to bear all expenses for the treatment of injured in the blasts.
The Election Commission (EC) will stop the movement of public and private transport from April 9 and 10 to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
In a statement issues here, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nepal has urged all political parties, including armed groups, to respect human rights during the forthcoming CA elections. (ANI)
