Govt. has commuted death sentence of Govindasamy to life

New Delhi, Dec.1 (ANI): The death sentence of the condemned prisoner R. Govindasamy was commuted to life imprisonment under Article 72 of the Constitution of India in the month of November, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram revealed on Tuesday.
He will remain in prison for the remainder of his natural life. The decision was conveyed to the Government of Tamil Nadu on November 23, 2009, said Chidambaram. (ANI)
