Govt. formulates schemes for assistance to widows of CPF personnel
November 16th, 2010 - 10:23 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Ajay Maken on Tuesday informed that the Central Government has formulated schemes for assistance to the widows of Central Police Force (CPF) personnel.
“If the death occurred due to active duty, then widow is entitled for liberalized pensionary award, which is equal to last pay drawn and provision of family pension for other cases, ex-gratia compensation at the rate of Rs`15 lac for death on active duty and at the rate of Rs `10 lac for death on duty, as the case may be, is entitled to widow of the deceased CPF personnel and five percent vacancies reserved for compassionate appointments for widows and next of kins of the deceased CPF personnel,” said Maken in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
“Ex-gratia compensation at the rate of Rs 15 lac for death on active duty and at the rate of Rs 10 lac for death on duty, as the case may be, is entitled to widow of the deceased CPF personnel, five percent vacancies reserved for compassionate appointments for widows and next of kins of the deceased CPF personnel, Prime Minister’s scholarship scheme for the wards of the widows of non gazetted officers, ‘Welfare And Rehabilitation Board’ has been set up to attend to the grievances of the widows by the State and District Welfare Officer concerned and Central Police Canteen facility providing goods on cheaper rates is also authorized,” he added, while giving brief details of the schemes.
