Govt. committed to provide better irrigation facilities: Salman Khurshid
April 27th, 2011 - 10:24 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Apr 27 (ANI): Union Water Resources Minister Salman Khurshid today said that the Central Government is committed to provide better irrigation facilities to the farmers in the country. Talking to reporters here, Khurshid said the Centre will convene a meeting with the state governments early next month to streamline the river basin irrigation policies. “The government will accelerate the on going repair and renovation proceedings of the water bodies in order to benefit the farmers,” he added. He further said that the Centre is coordinating with the state governments for releasing the grants of the various schemes. (ANI)
