Govt. approves transfer of Defence land to KVS in J-K, Punjab, Manipur
August 26th, 2010 - 10:16 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Aug.26 (ANI): The Government on Thursday approved transfer of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Manipur at a nominal rent of Rupee One only per annum.
In a decision, the Union Cabinet today gave its approval to transfer of 99 Kanals and 15 Marlas (12.468 acre) of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) on lease on perpetuity basis, at a nominal rent of Rupee One only per annum for construction of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Village Chak Manga Rakhwal, Tehsil Samba in Jammu district of Jammu & Kashmir.
The step is aimed at ensuring more comfort, safety and security to the children of serving personnel families, separated families and ex-servicemen families in and around Samba Military station.
It also approved transfer of 6.0729 acre of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) on lease on perpetuity basis, at a nominal rent of Rupee One only per annum for construction of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Village Alhoran, Tehsil Nabha in Patiala district of Punjab.
It is hoped that the new building will ensure more comfort, safety and security to the children of the area. Besides, it will also enable the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan to upgrade the school upto class XII Serving personnel families, separated families and ex-servicemen families in and around Nabha Military station will be benefited.
The Cabinent also approved transfer of 5.99 acre of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) on lease on perpetuity basis, at a nominal rent of rupee one only per annum for construction of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Leimakhong, Imphal, Manipur.
It is hoped that with this, the inconvenience caused to the children of the military personnel and ex-servicemen residing in and around Leimakhong, Imphal, Manipur will be reduced.
It will now be possible to provide basic infrastructure and other facilities to the students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya. (ANI)
