Government revises the Minimum Support Prices for Rabi cropsJanuary 29th, 2009 - 7:34 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, Jan 29 (ANI): The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has revised the minimum support price for Rabi crops.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon, an official spokesman declared that the Minimum Support Price of wheat has been fixed at 1,080 rupees per quintal, marking an increase of 80 rupee. The Minimum Support Price of barley has been raised by 35 rupees per quintal to 680 rupees per quintal.
Similarly, the price of gram has increased to 130 rupees at 1,730 rupees per quintal.
The Minimum Price for masoor has been fixed at 1,870 rupee per quintal with an increase of 170 rupees and for rap seed and mustard have been raised by 30 rupees a quintal, fixing it at 1,830 rupees.
However, the price of Sunflower still remains unchanged at 1,650 rupee a quintal.
The Rabi crops is the spring harvest which usually spans from mid April to mid June. (ANI)
