Goods worth millions destroyed in Wadala godown fire
February 7th, 2010 - 4:42 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Nashik, Feb 7 (ANI): Goods worth millions of rupees were destroyed in the fire that broke out at a storage place of logs and wooden items at Wadala village near Nashik here.
Around ten fire tenders were rushed to the site and engaged themselves in extinguishing the rising flames.
Nisar Khan Ahmed, the owner of the godown said, “We got a call at around 11:30 a.m., when we reached this spot, we saw the godown was on fire. The reason for the fire is still not known; we don’t have enmity with anybody.”
“All our lifelong savings have now been destroyed in the fire. We cannot do anything about it. If the government provides relief to us, then only we can think of starting the business again,” he added.
Fortunately, no loss of life was reported.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. (ANI)
