Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 (ANI): Expressing satisfaction over the co-ordination between the State police and paramilitary forces, K. Vijay Kumar, the new Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has said that the interaction between both forces is commendable enough to tackle the Maoist-insurgency.

Vijay Kumar, who completed his two-day visit to the State on Thursday, also interacted with field officials and troopers deployed in the ultra-infested districts of Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput.

He also met Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Governor Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare to apprise them of the situation in the State.

“Slight difference from place to place is there and much of the decisions on the ground will be left to the local commanders. My purpose of coming to this place was to call on the honorable Chief Minister and his Excellency the Governor, to meet with the chief secretary, the DGP, meet my field commanders, meet the supremos of the police, which I did,” said Vijay Kumar.

“The last two days I have been moving around and I find good interaction between both the forces,” he added, while addressing the media persons here on Thursday.

The CRPF DGP further said the State Government is working towards fulfilling the needs of the officers deployed in these sensitive areas.

“Wherever further infrastructure, further support, logistical help is required we have put across our points of view. They are looking at it. We are already doing whatever is needed,” he added. (ANI)
