New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat will hold talks with Congress President Sonia Gandhi here today to discuss the political crisis in the State.
National Congress Party (NCP) General Secretary Praful Patel was in Panaji to hold talks with three of his MLAs and an independent Viswajeet Rane to ask them not to press for withdrawal of support to the seven-month-old government, which is on the verge of collapse.

Patel later said, “the government will survive. We will find some solution.”

The Goa Legislative Assembly was prorogued on Thursday following Chief Minister Digamber Kamats recommendation.
On Wednesday the Digamber Kamat Government was reduced to a minority after two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Ministers along with Save Goa Front Legislators withdrew their support to the government.

A group of ministers, including Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, Tourism Minister Mickey Pacheco, and Save Goa Front legislators Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and Atanasio Monserratte are understood to have come together to test the government on the floor of the House.
The ministers and a few ruling legislators are reportedly unhappy over functioning of State Finance Minister Dayanand Narvekar.
Congress leaders P R Dasmunshi and B K Hariprasad expressed confidence that the crisis will blow over. (ANI)
