New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): Smart models promoting fancy new cars and bikes are luring customers to the stalls at the Auto Expo 2008 being held at New Delhi.
Top automobile firms have roped in professional modelling agencies and management students to market their products or update visitors at the Auto Expo on the technical intricacies of these products and this year’s Expo is high on the glamour quotient.
The bevy of beauties draped in attractive apparel are raking in the moolahs ranging between Rs 2, 000 to Rs 3, 000 a day, but it can go up in the case of exceptional models, said an official.
Foreign models have also been roped to promote these cars and bikes.
“It’s nice to do modelling in India. This is a fine and an interesting job. I like this country and my agency, so I feel great,” said Yana, a model from Ukraine.
“It’s the first time that I’m participating at the Auto Expo and I didn’t have any idea what it was like. It started yesterday at around 12.20 p.m. with a press conference and I had to speak about bikes. The people are very courteous and I’m enjoying my experience here,” said Chandrika Saha, a model from Kolkata.
Auto giants take the help of various modelling agencies to meet their temporary staffing needs.
Speaking about the procedure for recruitment of models, Jaspreet Singh, Proprietor of RJ Models said: “We are a well established model Management Company with offices here and Mumbai.
“Whenever these fairs happen in Delhi or anywhere else in India, we have a set of clients who approach us. These clients also take our names in front of different companies and the publicity is word of mouth. They (Auto companies) get in touch with us around 3-4 months in advance for all these models and we book them for 7-9 days for the Auto Expo,” added Jaspreet.
About 150,000 auto buffs are expected to visit the show.
According to experts, by 2050, one in every six cars in the world will be drive by an Indian. (ANI)
