German Foreign Minister visits Rajghat

New Delhi, Oct.19 (ANI): German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle visited Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, to pay homage to the Father of the Nation on Tuesday.
Westerwelle was welcomed by Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter. He paid floral tribute to Gandhi.
Tara Gandhi also presented a handwoven shawl to the visiting German.
Westerwelle arrived in New Delhi on Sunday and discussed matters of bilateral interest with the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Indian government officials.
Both countries were recently elected as non-permanent members in UN Security Council for two years till 2012. (ANI)
