Patna/ New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Gadkari’s derogatory remarks against the Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal chiefs, have evoked a strong criticism from various leaders.

Leaders of Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and others reacted quite angrily over Gadkari’s utterances despite his lateral regret over the incident.

Criticising Gadkari’s objectionable language against the SP and RJD leaders, Mohan Singh of the Samajwadi party said: “It seems like he (Gadkari) is a mannerless person. We are surprised to see that a man of such low mentality has become the chief of a big party.”

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday described the BJP President as “immature”.

“Neither Lal Krishna Advani nor any other party chief has ever used such derogatory words ever like this immature chief, Gadkari. My party has taken this offence very seriously,” said Yadav.

Meanwhile, Congress party spokesman Manish Tiwari described Gadkari an “extension of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)” and a “spoilt brat”.

“Nitin Gadkari is RSS’s extension board in Delhi. Other BJP leaders insert their plugs and derive political energy and continue their political carriers. His comments should not be given much significance; he is not a political heavyweight yet and therefore does not deserve a reaction. Like a spoilt brat he tries to become the center of attraction,” said Tiwari.

On Wednesday (May 12), Nitin Gadkari made derogatory remarks against Mulayam Singh and Lalu Prasad Yadav during a public rally in Chandigarh.

Gadkari had accused that Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, of having betrayed the opposition during the recent cut motion in Parliament and made the objectionable remarks. Though, Gadkari soon retracted the derogatory remarks and said he had used the words just as an idiom, and did not wish to hurt anyone’s sentiments. (ANI)
