Patna (Bihar), Oct. 28 (ANI): Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress continue to trade charges over the state of development in Bihar.
The latest salvo was fired by BJP president Nitin Gadkari and countered by senior Congress leader and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
While Gadkari claimed that the BJP has played a major role in helping the Janata Dal-United party with development-related initiatives in the state, Dikshit said not enough was being done by a communally backed regime in Bihar.
Gadkari said: “Who has changed the picture? Roads are being constructed and schools are being built in Bihar. This changing face of Bihar, if we want to measure the development of a state, then we have to measure its development ratio. Bihar’s development ratio was minus point five percent ratio but when Nitish’s and Sushil’s (NDA) government come in to power then development ratio rose to eleven percent.”
Dikshit countered by saying: “People of Bihar are looking towards construction than development. The government that will work, only such an entity will come into power, and we have full faith on Congress party. Whatever development we have seen in this country is all because of Congress government policy. The Congress party has never followed the path of communalism and has brought everyone together and this message has been imparted to the people of Bihar and we hope that we will get good results which would be in Bihar’s favour.” (ANI)
