January 19th, 2010 - 5:48 pm ICT by ANIJammu, Jan.19 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday cane charged All-J&K Power Development Department’s (PDD) daily wagers while agitating at the Electric Sub station and store near Parade Ground here.
At least four protestors had to be taken to Government Medical College (GMC), after they suffered serious injuries during the cane-charge by police.
Police resorted to cane-charging when PDD daily Wagers tried to move towards the State Secretariat to hold protest and press for their demand of regularization.
The daily wagers have been on strike for two months to demand regularisation of their jobs and early release of the pending wages. (ANI)
