March 15th, 2011 - 9:42 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, March 15 (IANS) Timely detection and disposal of four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by police and the army Tuesday averted a major tragedy in Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
A senior police officer here said separatist guerrillas had placed four IEDs under a culvert in Pullnard-Dardpora village to target security forces’ vehicles passing over it.
“Police and army troops jointly recovered the IEDs, which were later disposed off by the bomb disposal squad of police on the spot without causing any damage,” he added.
