Four children drown in pit in Delhi
March 6th, 2010 - 12:21 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Mar 6 (ANI): Four children drowned after falling into a pit believed to be dug by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to lay a water pipeline in Timarpur area of New Delhi.
The children identified as Vikas (8), Atul (7) and Ritesh (9), and Narender (8) were the residents of Gopalpur village in TimarpurAccording to sources, a water pipeline was being laid in the area and some pits were left uncovered after the work was over. However, water from nearby leaking pipe accumulated into the pit.
A case has been registered against the Delhi Jal Board. (ANI)
