Washington, Nov 19 (ANI): Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf will embark on a lecture tour in the US from early next year, with his first speaking engagement to take place at the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan at Grand Rapids on 14 January.
The occasion will be the 59th anniversary dinner of the world council.
The subject that Musharraf would speak on is, however, not clear yet.
According to the Daily Times, members of the Council will be paying 125 dollars and non-members 150 dollars for the privilege of hearing the former Pakistani president.
The Council was formed in 1949 by a group of community leaders in Grand Rapids who believed an organisation dedicated to international topics and American foreign policy issues was necessary in order to combat the isolationism in this area following World War II.
Since then, the Council has been dedicated to educating people in western Michigan about other countries, cultures and regions of the world, as well as providing a forum for discussion of critical foreign policy issues facing this country, added the paper. (ANI)
