Kathmandu, Nov 18 (ANI): Former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is scheduled to attend the 14th Convocation Ceremony of the Kathmandu University as the chief guest here today.
Talking briefly to the reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) here on Monday, Kalam expressed his happiness to visit the Himalayan country.
Later while addressing a talk programme on “Dynamics of Societal Transformation” organized by BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and Kathmandu University (KU) Dr. Kalam said that the unity of minds should be promoted for peace and happiness in the world.
“Presently, terrorism and low intensity wars affect many parts of the world,” he said, adding, “If attention is diverted from conflict to development, there could be peaceful coexistence.”
During his visit, he will meet President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and other political leaders, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
