Jaipur, Jan.15 (ANI): While the chill in the evening continues to discourage Jaipur residents from moving out of their homes, international tourists are charmed by the weather. Many of the foreign tourists are enjoying visiting majestic monuments and other popular spots here despite the temperature being around 5 to 6 degree Celsius in the morning and evenings.
According to tour operators, these foreign tourists are making best of their holidays, visiting various popular tourist spots in and around the Pink City. It is believed that over 2,000 tourists from abroad are flocking to Jaipur every day.
The trend has cheered the State tourism department and it is being hoped that the present trend would last till March end.
The most visited spots are the Jantar Mantar and Amer Fort.
“The foreign tourists will come in a good number till March end. Tourists from countries like Italy and France will throng the place since at this point of time, the weather condition in those countries becomes difficult, said Om Prakash Sharma, the Jantar Mantar superintendent.
Approximately 4,000 to 5,000 tourists visit the monuments daily. Out of which 2,500 are foreign tourists. They like weather conditions here. Besides, they visit this place around Pushkar fair and Christmas,” Sharma added.
These foreign visitors, despite the mercury dipping towards the minus mark in Rajasthan, can be found enjoying the extreme weather conditions here, as they leave their hotels at dawn to reach their favourite destinations.
“Foreign tourists who come to India find the weather from October to February very pleasant. With pleasing weather conditions, they get less tired, and can carry out their tour sans any pain. They regale in sightseeing,” said Govind, a tour guide.
Most of the foreigners are enjoying their stay in Jaipur for many day now since Christmas here, as back at home too the weather is very cold.
“People in India did informed us that it is cold. It’s very cold back in New York, almost 22 degree Fahrenheit and snowing. So, we are very comfortable here,” said Joan, tourist from New York
The tourist season in Jaipur begins around the last week of September and continues till the onset of summer. (ANI)
