- Surat, Oct 18 (ANI): Property worth millions went up in smoke as a fire broke out in a textile-printing mill in Surat this morning.
The fire broke out at Ujjala dye and printing mill in Pandesara in Surat. Twenty fire fighting vehicles fought the raging fire.
The fire fighters had a tough time to bring the fire under control, as they had to ensure the fire does not reach 25 other such mills in the surrounding area.
“The fire broke out at around 2 am, almost all fire fighting vehicles of Surat fire brigade have come here. The fire is almost under control,” said N. P. Morh, fire fighting official.
The machineries inside the mill got burnt. The mill was closed for two-days on the occasion of Diwali.
The cause of the fire is still not known, though fire officials suspect a short circuit could have led to the fire. (ANI)
