Fire breaks out in plastic factory in New Delhi
October 13th, 2010 - 7:01 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Oct.13 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a plastic factory here on Wednesday.
The fire broke out at 4 a.m. at a factory located in the Narela industrial area. Over 22 fire engines were called to extinguish the fire.
“We have controlled the fire. There is no chance of it spreading any more. Our 22 vehicles are involved, and it might take some more time, as there is Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) material inside the factory. It was a PVC manufacturing factory. The fire has spread out into the basement, ground, first and second floors,” said Santosh Singh, a fire official.
Initial estimates suggest a loss of about 2 million rupees.
The officials are investigating the cause of the fire, believed to have been sparked by short-circuit.
No casualties were reported. (ANI)
