Fire breaks out in Mumbai’s slum area

Mumbai, Jan.1 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in slum area of Mumbai on Saturday morning.
Firemen rushed to the spot to control the situation.
A. N. Shinde, Deputy Fire Officer said more then a dozen fire engines have rushed to the spot.
“The fire took place around 4 in the morning in this hunger. Total 16 fire engines, six jumbo tankers, five water tankers, two ambulances, control post, High Priority Low Volume (HPLV) vehicles have gathered on the spot for rescue,” said Shinde.
Shinde further informed that the massive fire has engulfed hundreds of low cost houses and a warehouse of oil in slum area.
“Minimum five godowns, main oil Godowns having big barrels of 200 litres approximately hundreds of huts burnt in the mishap but till now, we have not found a single case of injury in it,” said Shinde.
No casualty has been reported till now. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. (ANI)
