Fire breaks out in Kanpur battery factory
March 30th, 2011 - 9:25 pm ICT by ANIKanpur, Mar 30 (ANI): A fire broke out in a battery factory in a densely populated area of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur city on Wednesday.
At least 12 fire brigades were rushed to the spot and the neighbouring buildings were vacated.
The exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained, but the locals here said the old stock caught fire.
“The fire broke out at the battery factory after the old stock caught fire,” said Ajay Bajpai, a local.
According to fire officials, the owner of the battery factory has run away.
No casualties have been reported into the incident. (ANI)
