Filing of nominations for second phase of J-K Assembly elections ends today
November 5th, 2008 - 4:12 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend: Srinagar, Nov 5 (ANI): Filing of nominations for the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections will close this evening.
The scrutiny will be taken up on Thursday.
Four seats in Rajouri and two in Ganderbal district will go to polls in this phase on November 23.
Meanwhile, arrangements are being finalised for smooth conduct of polls in the ten constituencies in the first phase on November 17.
There are 8109 polling stations in the state and they would be guarded as per their specifications of sensitive and hyper-sensitive nature.
Three-tier security will be provided at sensitive places like venues of election rallies and all candidates will get security in the Kashmir valley and troubled areas of Jammu region.
The seven-phase assembly polls are expected to draw over 65 lakh voters at 8,000 polling stations in the state. (ANI)
