Fake pilot scam: Delhi Police issues lookout notice against four persons
March 28th, 2011 - 9:14 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Mar 28 (ANI): The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has issued a lookout notice against three pilots and a flying instructor for allegedly being involved in forging mark sheets to procure licences.
According to reports, notices have been issued against pilots Swaran Singh Talwar of MDLR, Sighed Habib Ali and Bhupinder Singh, who have licences, but have not joined any airline.
A lookout notice has also been issued against a flying instructor D Asatkar.
Delhi Police on Saturday arrested four persons, including a DGCA official and a pilot, in connection with the fake flying license scam.
Police said they have arrested DGCA official Pradeep Kumar, pilot Pradeep Tyagi and two touts. One of them has been identified as Lalit Jain.
Acting tough against pilots obtaining their commercial licences by submitting fake records and documents, DGCA had recently grounded 14 pilots.
The police is now probing if the pilots across the country were also helped.
The crime branch team in Mumbai on Friday had identified one of the two touts, who had helped several pilots to prepare fake marksheets.
Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi had on Wednesday said that the government will take strict action against fake flying schools enabling pilots to obtain licences without proper training and documents.
Talking to reporters outside the Parliament, Ravi said: “The ministry has issued go ahead orders to the concerned agencies in order to build a strong case against the alleged fake schools without any leniency.”
“There are about 40 flying schools. Now there is an audit of these schools… Blanket order has been given to go ahead into the complaints. There is no leniency to anybody,” he added. (ANI)
