New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the extension of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) to uniformed Coast Guard pensioners and retired personnel of Defence Security Corps (DSC).
Retired personnel of the DSC, who left the Army service pre-maturely without earning any pension, but joined DSC later and are in receipt of pension by virtue of their service in DSC, would be covered under the ECHS scheme now.
“This decision will benefit the uniformed Coast Guard pensioners and retired Defence Security Corps personnel, who are in receipt of pension by virtue of their service in DSC, in getting medical care after retirement which is not available to them as of now,” a Cabinet release said. (ANI)
