England clears Mohali as second test venueDecember 11th, 2008 - 1:12 pm ICT by ANI
Mohali, Dec 11 (ANI): The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has given security clearance for Mohali as the venue for the second test in India.
ECB’’s Managing Director Hugh Morris has confirmed Mohali as the venue for the second Test match and said that the England team is looking forward to play at Mohali.
“I would like to say a very big thank to the Punjab Cricket Association and previously to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. The England team is delighted to be back in India,” said Morris.
England security advisor Reg Dickason visited the Mohali venue earlier on Wednesday to inspect the security measures taken for the December 19 to 23 match, in the two-test series.
Security fears following last month’’s Mumbai militant attacks forced the series to be moved from the original venues of Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
England resumed their aborted tour following security clearance on Sunday. (ANI)
