Encounter with Maoists in Jharkhand ends
September 10th, 2010 - 3:41 pm ICT by ANIDumka (Ranchi), Sep 10 (ANI): The encounter between security forces and Naxals in the hilly jungles of Jama block in Jharkhand’s Dumka District on Friday has come to an end.
A police sub-inspector has been killed and other two policemen injured.
“The officer-in-charge of Jama police station Satanand Singh died on the spot when a bullet hit him in the head during the gunfight,” said Jharkhand’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police B K Pandey.
Two others, including a constable of Special Task Force were injured in the same gun battle.
Senior police personnel were rushed from Ranchi to review the situation.
