Eight killed in Gujarat temple town stampede
December 21st, 2009 - 1:27 pm ICT by ANIDhoraji (Gujarat), Dec 21 (ANI): At least eight women were killed when a stampede occurred at the Gopalnath temple in Dhoraji in Gujarat last evening.
The Gopalnath temple, 70km from Rajkot at 7 p.m. when the temple was open its doors for aarti and darshan.
Thousands of people had gathered for the ceremony and the rush to get inside the temple lead to the mishap.
More than 30 women sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. (ANI)
