Eight killed in cloudburst in Pithoragarh
August 8th, 2009 - 2:44 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), Aug 8 (ANI): At least eight people were killed and 24 others trapped in debris after a cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district on Saturday.
According to official sources, the cloudburst washed away eight houses in the Mushiyari block. The cloudburst followed heavy rains in Lar and Jhegla villages.
Eight bodies have been recovered.
Rescue operation was hampered due to the rocky terrain. (ANI)
