Eight BSF personnel killed in Assam ambush
March 15th, 2011 - 12:47 pm ICT by ANIGuwahati, Mar 15 (ANI): At least eight Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and eight others injured in an ambush by the anti-talks faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland in Assam’s Kokrajhar District last evening.
Militants of the Ranjan Daimary-led faction used automatic weapons to ambush the convoy of the BSF in remote Ultapani Forest area near the India-Bhutan border.
The patrol was on its way from Bangladoba in Chirang District of Assam to Ultapani in Kokrajhar District, when it was ambushed.
The deceased have been identified as Bijoy Kumar, S K Sharma, Arabinda Dere, Bolaram Lamba, Santa Ramthree, Naresh Kumar, Kuber Bora and Hira Singh. (ANI)
