Earthquake Of Magnitude 6.3 Hits Kashmir

kashmirOct.24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kashmir, which is listed among the beautiful places of the world has experienced earthquake shocks on Friday morning. As stated by the official source, the earthquake that had shaken some parts of the Kashmir valley had 6.3 magnitude. People of the affected areas tried to rescue themselves and moved to safe places. Though the earthquake rattled the houses yet there was no immediate report of deaths from this earthquake.

Uri which is a border town in the Baramulla district had experienced some strong shocks of the quake. People there were panicked and ran to different places for saving themselves. As stated by the sources, the earthquake had hit the place at almost 1:21 a.m. in the midnight. Pakistan’s Hindukush mountains was reported as the epicenter of this strong earthquake that made people evict their houses in the midnight. People started to panic after they felt the tremors of the quake and stayed out of their houses for almost a couple of hours.

Few years back in October 2005, the same area was damaged by the earthquake. It was a massive earthquake and caused severe losses to human life. This earthquake made the people to remember of that massive earthquake which rose the panic. Many places of Kashmir falls under the Seismic belt and so earthquake is not something uncommon in this region.

As stated by the sources, different parts of Pakistan had felt shakes of earthquake this week. Lahore, Peshawar as well as Islamabad had felt earthquake shocks. Reports of earthquake also came from North West Frontier and Rawalpindi.
