Earthquake measuring 5.1 on Richter scale jolts parts of Maharashtra
December 12th, 2009 - 8:00 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Dec 12 (ANI): A strong earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, on Saturday evening.
According to reports, the tremors were felt for few seconds around 5.21 p.m.The epicentre of the earthquake was reportedly near the Koyna Dam located between Chipnur and Karad.
The Konkan region consisting, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga, Raigadh and Pune also experienced the minor tremor.
No damage to life has been reported till the reports came in. (ANI)
