Dustin Lance Black wins best original screenplay Oscar

Los Angeles, Feb 23 (IANS) Dustin Lance Black won the best original screenplay Oscar for “Milk” about California’s first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk.
Directed by Gus Van Sant, the film narrates the story of Milk, a San Francisco supervisor who was assassinated along with Mayor George Moscone by San Francisco Supervisor Dan White. Sean Penn played the main lead in the movie.
