Dog told to wear high visibility vest for entry into pub!November 12th, 2008 - 5:45 pm ICT by ANI
London, Nov 12 (ANI): A dog barred from a pub for chewing up its beer mats has been allowed back in but only if she wears a high-visibility vest.
Hatty the Lakeland terrier must be visible at all times to landlord Nigel McLelland at the Jolly Sailor in Prestatyn, north Wales.
Jeff Hughes, the dog’’s owner, said his pet started chasing and chewing beer mats after the pub’’s assistant manager threw one to her.
“One night we went in there and it was packed, there had been football on or whatever. She just went berserk, The Telegraph quoted Jeff, as saying.
Hatty was banned last year but McLelland said she can now come back in the pub if she wears a high-visibility vest, which she usually has on when accompanying Hughes to work on building sites.
McLelland said he only reversed his decision after a petition was launched to let Hatty back in and he feared he was going to lose trade.
To avoid any further damage he has put Hatty on a pet watch scheme. (ANI)
