DMK-led alliance leading in Tamil Nadu
May 16th, 2009 - 12:15 pm ICT by ANIChennai, May 16 (ANI): The DMK-Congress-VCK alliance is leading in 14 of the 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu while the rival AIADMK front that includes the Left parties is leading in five seats.
M Krishnaswamy, AKS Vijayan, TKS Elangovan, TR Baalu and V Tamizharasi are leading in their respective constituencies, while those trailing are Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Mani Shankar Iyer, KV Thankabalu and EVKS Elangovan.
In Puducherry, Congress candidate V Narayanasamy is leading over the PMK’s M Ramadoss.
In the fray in Tamil Nadu are 823 candidates, including 41 women. In Puducherry, 28 politicians are contesting the lone parliamentary seat. (ANI)
