DGCA issues guideline for aircraft operation during fog
November 18th, 2009 - 9:10 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Nov.17 (ANI): Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday issued guidelines for various aircraft operations during low visibility conditions at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
The DGCA has given detail about action required to be taken by various agencies at airport like aerodrome operator, airlines, Air Traffic management, Meteorological department.
The guidelines are revised by DGCA from time to time on the feedback and previous experience for making them safe and convenient for handling the situation arising due to the fog at IGI Airport.
Preparedness of all agencies like India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL), Airport Authority of India (AAI) and airlines were reviewed with regard to forthcoming fog season and existing guidelines in the DGCA office on November 16, 2009.(ANI)
