Department of Justice to organize regional meetings on Sunday
July 17th, 2010 - 10:30 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, July 17(ANI): The Department of Justice will organize regional meetings of Chief Justices of High Courts, State Law Ministers, State Finance Secretaries and State Law Secretaries on Sunday to discuss the implementation of the recommendations of the 13th Finance Commission.
The objective of this meeting is to ensure improvement in delivery of justice and other subjects of judicial reforms.
The agenda would also include implementation of e-Courts projects, infrastructure development plan for district and subordinate courts, creation of all India judicial service and review of vacancies of judges.
Recommendations of the task force on ‘Judicial Impact Assessment’ will also be discussed.
The meeting will further review implementation of Gram Nyayalay scheme, progress of fast track courts, setting up of more CBI and family courts, implementation of the Supreme Court directives on Salem Bar Association case, under-trial prisoners and state judicial academies for capacity building of advocates.
