Delhi’s Ram Lila ground hosts two-day exhibition on Indira Gandhi
October 31st, 2009 - 7:40 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Oct 31(ANI): On 25th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Delhi Government is organizing a two-day exhibition at the Ram Lila ground in the national capital.
The exhibition showcases Indira Gandhi’s pictures from the time she was three years old to her college days, her marriage, her sons, besides an array of pictures portraying her personal life.
There are also snapshots of Indira Gandhi taking oath as Prime Minister, her public appearances and meeting people.
Addressing the media at the exhibition, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit said: “It has been 25 years since Indira Gandhi went to her heavenly abode. This exhibition has been put to re-live her fond memories by way of photographs.”
“This exhibition aims at reliving and reminiscing Indiraji’s memories. She has left an everlasting impression on the people, which will stay forever. Her name is recorded in golden letters in the history of India,” she added.
Dikshit further said the exhibition is an effort to showcase major highlights of Indira Gandhi’s life so that people can take inspiration from it. (ANI)
