Delhi shivers as mercury dips further
December 22nd, 2010 - 1:39 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): The minimum temperature in the national capital on Wednesday plunged to the season’s lowest so far at 5.2 degrees Celsius.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the day temperature is expected to fall further in the coming days.
The minimum temperature dropped below three degree Celsius, while the minimum recorded on Tuesday was 6.8 degree Celsius. Overnight temperatures had been hovering around 7-8 degree Celsius for the past fortnight and the sharp decline was recorded for the first time this season. A fog cover also descended over the city, which resulted in visibility dropping to 500 metres.
According to statistics provided by the weather office, the average minimum temperature in Delhi for the month of December is 8.2 degree Celsius and the maximum is 23 degree Celsius. (ANI)
