New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Delhi Police has seized 99.5 kilogram of opium (poppy straw) from two members of an inter-state gang.
Bashir Ahmed, 33 and Ravinder, 22, were arrested following a tip off on February 23 with 99.5 kilogram of opium.
“Bashir Ahmed got down from the car and later his aide Ravinder took out gunny bags of opium straw and we immediately apprehended both of them on the spot,” said Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special cell.
Both the accused were interrogated and Bashir Ahmed disclosed that he was a native of Jammu and Kashmir and started working as a driver and later began drug running to earn fast money.
He formed a gang and began procuring opium every third day from Gwalior to sell it to drivers, conductors of roadways staff and other prospective clients to earn huge profit.
Ravinder is also alleged to be involved in a rape case. (ANI)
