Delhi Lt. Gov. says, a majority of North Indians violate traffic rulesFebruary 7th, 2008 - 5:12 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Feb 7 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Tejinder Khanna on Thursday said that a majority of North Indians violate traffic rules and regulations.
North Indians feel pride in violating traffic rules and regulations. They are the ones, who break the rules most, Khanna said while addressing a Delhi Traffic Polices programme.
He went on to say that generally people think that traffic rules can be violated and no legal action would be taken against them.
Commenting on Khannas remark, the Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi Unit chief, Harsh Vardhan said that a particular community or a particular section of society must not be blamed for violation of traffic rules.
People who really do not abide with rules and regulations are negligible, Harsh Vardhan said.
Meanwhile, giving a clarification over his remarks, Khanna said that the media misquoted him.
It must be recalled that earlier last month, Khannas suggestion of mandatory photo identity card for people coming to and living in Delhi created a hullabaloo (ANI)
