New Delhi, Aug 6 (ANI): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik has said that the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games will progress well, and added that India will overcome all eventualities amid increasing concerns over infrastructural delays.

With just over 55 days to go before the opening ceremony, the final preparations for the 2010 Games have been tarnished by construction problems and claims of financial impropriety.

” I hope the Commonwealth Games progresses well and we look forward to participate in the 2010 Games as we do in all international events,” Malik told ANI.

Asked about the reports of delay in Commonwealth Games infrastructure, he said: It’s not for me to comment, I can only say that our sportsmen and athletes are looking forward to it.”

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has also asked for clarification amid signs that some venues are already showing signs of construction faults. (ANI)
