Delhi building collapse death toll rises to eightMarch 31st, 2008 - 6:59 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Mar 31 (ANI): The death toll in an under-construction building that collapsed at New Usmanpur locality in Seelampur in North-east Delhi on Saturday reached eight on Monday.
According to the police, the body of one more person was recovered from the debris early this morning.
“A body of a middle-aged man has been recovered from the site where some more persons are suspected to be trapped under the debris,” police said.
The rescue operation is still on as cranes and earthmovers were trying its best to clear the rest of the rubble after the incident, which took place on Saturday leaving several others injured.
The efforts are on by the police to caught Deepak Garg, an owner of the building, who is still absconding. (ANI)
