Deepa Mehta to receive Lifetime Achievement award
October 1st, 2008 - 1:41 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Washington, Oct 1 (ANI): Indian-born Canadian film director Deepa Mehta will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement award by Loyola Marymount University.
The 50-year-old helmer will receive the 2008 Infinite Power of Story Lifetime Achievement Award on Oct. 13 from School of Film and Television during its Film Outside the Frame Festival, reports Variety.
She would also be presented with the Cosgrove Distinguished Visiting Artist appointment during the festival, reports Variety
Mehta’’s Heaven on Earth which touches the issues of immigration, isolation and power of imagination was recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. (ANI)
