The Dawood gang had readied itself for the arrival of the Pakistan terrorists in Mumbai and had pointed out the ATS team to them.
Amir Kasav and Abu Dera Ismael Khan were supposedly hidden in the bushes near the Cama Hospital when the police Qualis arrived. They opened fire on the police team, which did not even have the time to draw their weapons.
