Dausa MP released from Ajmer jail
December 31st, 2009 - 3:07 pm ICT by ANIAjmer, Dec 31 (ANI): Dausa MP Kirori Lal Meena was released from the Ajmer Central Jail here on Thursday morning.
Inspector General of Police (Jaipur Range) B.L. Soni said police arrested Meena on Wednesday.
Emboldened by the justice for Ruchika cry, Meena had staged a dharna in Jaipur on Tuesday to demand justice for a tribal lady who had been harassed and raped by Madhukar Tandon, the then Deputy Inspector General of Police 12 years ago
Rajasthan Government has ordered the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the state police to arrest Tandon, who is currently absconding.
Rajasthan Home Minister Shanti Dhariwal said a six-member team has been sent to Noida to arrest Tandon.
Supporters of Meena called for a shutdown in Rajasthan on Thursday to protest his arrest. (ANI)
