Data Collection for Census 2011 and NPR over except in J-K

New Delhi, Sep.1 (ANI): The Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram, on Wednesday said the data collection for house listing and housing census and for the National Population Register has been completed in all States/UTs except in Jammu & Kashmir and a few areas of Chhattisgarh, Manipur and West Bengal.
“NPR for the coastal areas was completed in 3,331 coastal villages of nine maritime States and four Uts,” said Mr. Chidambaram while presenting the monthly report card of Home Ministry for August, 2010.
Biographical details of approximately 120 lakh persons and biometric details of approximately 69 lakh persons were collected, he further stated. (ANI)
